Hastelloy C276 Welding Rods

Metal Yard is a recognized supplier and stockist of Hastelloy C276 Welding Rods, which goes beyond the benchmarks, notched by its companion Hastelloy grades to include strong resistance across the board to oxidizers such as wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide. The high chromium content in Hastelloy C276 Welding Bars provides good resistance to oxidizing media while the molybdenum and tungsten content give good resistance to reducing media. Alloy C276 Welding Rods is oxidation resistant to 1800 Degree F in open air. However, Alloy C276 Welding Bars is generally not recommended for elevated temperature service. Hardening of C276 Alloy Welding Rods after functioning is recommended and must be carried out at temp in the range of 2050 Degree F and 2150 Degree F followed by rapid quench in defensive environment or in a restless reducing quench bath. C276 Alloy Welding Bars is supplied in this condition, where if hot forming or forging is done then the parts should be solution heat treated, if possible, before use. Good machinability, although Nickel C276 Welding Rods work hardens as is true of the nickel base alloys in general. Nickel C276 Welding Bars can be used in the “as-welded” condition without further heat treatment for most corrosive applications.

The high molybdenum content renders Hastelloy UNS N10276 Welding Rods susceptible to catastrophic oxidation in stagnant conditions, such as under solid deposits. Hastelloy UNS N10276 Welding Bars also has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.
